Bangkok's newest and most beautiful big park; its forest section opened in 2022 on the land of the old tobacco factory in the heart of the city, between the towers of Sukhumvit and Asok. Thai landscape architects designed it as an urban wetland forest that collects and cleans rainwater through plants, and it has become a refuge for birds and city people. Its highlight is the skywalk, a long timber and steel bridge winding over ponds, grasses and little islands, with the city towers mirrored on the skyline, one of modern Bangkok's finest views at sunset. The older section has a wide lake ringed by a running and cycling track, and lawns for picnics. Entry is free, it opens from about dawn to evening, and bikes are for hire. Midday heat is fierce and there is little shade on the skywalk, so come in the morning or before sunset and bring water. It is excellent for families and children. It is easy to reach on the Blue Line metro to Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre station, and a green link connects it to nearby Lumphini Park.
