A large public park around a big lake north of central Kuala Lumpur; the lake was left by tin-mining pits in British times, after which the area was cleaned up and made into a park. It is named after the Titiwangsa range, the mountain spine of Peninsular Malaysia. Its best-known feature is the view across the lake: the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower reflected in the water, alongside the National Theatre with its blue roof inspired by Malay architecture. It is one of the finest places to photograph the skyline at sunrise and sunset. Around the lake are paths for walking, running and cycling, paddle boats, a big fountain and large children's playgrounds. City residents come early in the morning and on weekend afternoons, and entry is free. Get there on the yellow MRT line to Hospital Kuala Lumpur station and walk, or by taxi from the centre in minutes. Come before sunset to watch the city lights come on over the water.
