A 69-metre pedestrian and cycle bridge crossing the Klang River and an expressway to link the traditional Malay district of Kampung Baru with the Petronas Towers area; it opened in February 2020 and quickly became one of the city's favourite photo spots. Its design is inspired by the sirih junjung, the traditional arrangement of betel leaves at Malay weddings, so its curved canopy is clad in thousands of diamond-shaped panels that light up at night in shifting colours. It is named after the Malaysian singer Saloma, who is buried in the cemetery next to it. The best time to come is after sunset, when the bridge glows and the lit Petronas Towers rise behind it in one of Kuala Lumpur's most photographed views. Crossing is free, and it closes in the small hours, from about one to five in the morning. Its northern end drops into Kampung Baru with its popular Malay restaurants, so make them one evening walk ending with dinner.
