Curitiba's Panoramic Tower, also called the Telepar Tower or Mercês Tower, is a telecommunications tower opened on 17 December 1991 to carry microwave antennas for the then state phone company. Thanks to its height it became a city lookout and tourist attraction, and it is the only phone tower in Brazil with an observation deck open to visitors. It is 109.5 metres tall, with the deck at 95 metres, 22.5 metres across and holding up to 62 visitors at a time, on ground 940 metres above sea level. On clear days it gives 360-degree views of the city, including the lake of Barigui Park. The site also has a Telephone Museum and an interior mural by the Curitiba artist Poty Lazzarotto. The tower received about 150,000 visitors in 2025, and visits usually need a booked slot; check times and prices on the city tourism portal.
