The Zürichhorn is the garden tongue on the lake's eastern shore — the golden quay walk's finale from Bellevue: open lawns onto water and Alps, where Zurich practises its true summer of swimming, picnics and sunset grilling. Its treasures scatter: the genuine Chinese Garden — twin-city Kunming's gift, walls and water bridge included (token fee) — Le Corbusier's last pavilion in flying colour (a summer museum), Tinguely's kinetic 'Heureka' spinning in calculated madness, and the domed historic lake restaurant. Lake steamers call at its pier, and the quay promenade reaches it from the centre in one sweet half-hour — Zurich's watery Central Park, free but for its pavilions.

A lovely quarter-hour, yes — a real, finely made pavilion garden, not tourist trim, with rare twinning symbolism (Kunming thanking Zurich for its waterworks). Photo families always leave content; veterans of China's own gardens may pass.
