It is the highest and most complete for an Amsterdam view โ no real rival in height. The neighbouring NEMO roof is free and lovely but far lower. For the full view and the swing: A'DAM; for a quick free one: NEMO. Sunset from A'DAM earns its price for view lovers.

A'DAM Lookout is the best view of Amsterdam: an oil-era tower (1971) on the harbour's north bank turned into a modern hub of life, with an observation deck on top opening the whole city from above โ the ring canals, the harbours, Central Station, and the horizon out to the flat Dutch countryside. Its scary-fun star is Over the Edge: a swing suspended on the roof's rim that swings you out over a hundred metres of void โ Europe's highest swing, the Amsterdam shot every daring visitor chases. On the roof are a cafรฉ and a revolving restaurant with 360-degree views. Getting there is half the fun: a free two-minute ferry from behind Central Station to the north bank โ Amsterdam's rising modern side. Sunset is its golden hour.
