Ca' Rezzonico is a grand Baroque palace on the Grand Canal turned into the Museum of Eighteenth-Century Venice โ the Republic's final century, of carnivals, masks and splendour before the fall. If you want to see how Venice's rich actually lived inside their palaces, this is the house that answers. The rooms are fully furnished: a ballroom under painted ceilings, chambers with original furniture, mirrors and Murano chandeliers, and paintings by Tiepolo, Canaletto and Longhi โ who documented daily Venetian life scene by scene, perfume sellers, mask fittings, morning chocolate parties. Its great advantage: it is nearly always uncrowded โ a complete Grand Canal palace you wander with a freedom impossible anywhere near San Marco.
