A pond fed by artesian springs and one of Jinan's best-known springs, at the heart of a group of 28 other springs, whose water comes from the deepest circulation of all the springs in the city. Legend links the pool to the Tang general Qin Shubao, whose house is said to have stood on the spot until heavy rains flooded it and formed the pool; a public park was laid out around it in 1985, restoring the old garden scene, and it is now a quiet place to stroll among clear water, rocks, pavilions and willows. Entry is free, and the park is open from 7 am to 10 pm, per visitor guides.
