A pedestrian bridge over Henderson Road on the Southern Ridges, Singapore's highest footbridge, opened on 10 May 2008, standing 36 m above the road and running 274 m long and 8 m wide. Its curving wooden ribs ripple like waves over the walkway, creating shade and alcoves with benches, and they glow with soft coloured lights at night, when the bridge looks its best. It forms part of the Southern Ridges walk, which links several parks through forest and canopy walkways above the trees, with views over the city and the port. Walking is free and open all day. Go in the morning or late afternoon, and link it with nearby Mount Faber and the Sentosa cable car.
