Japan House São Paulo, on Avenida Paulista, is a cultural centre that presents Japan to the world: its art, design, architecture, technology and food. Its building was designed by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who wrapped the façade in a screen of wood that blends traditional Japanese elements with a contemporary design standing out on the avenue. It hosts changing exhibitions, most of them free, such as shows on water in Japanese culture and on master carpenters in 2025-2026. Entry is free; it opens Tuesday to Friday 10:00-18:00 and at weekends and on holidays 10:00-19:00, closed on Mondays.
