A green oasis of around twenty hectares at the feet of the Petronas Towers, designed by the Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, and the place everyone takes the full-length photograph of the towers from. It is free, which is why families, joggers and residents of the surrounding towers share it with the tourists. At its heart is a lake with a lit musical fountain show in the evening, ringed by a promenade and a running track of more than a kilometre. Children get a big playground and a shallow wading pool, which makes the park an easy family stop after Aquaria or Petrosains. The best time is shortly before sunset: the sky colours behind the towers, then the steel facade lights up, and then the fountain show begins. At midday the heat is harsh and shade is scarce by the lake, so mornings and evenings are kinder. The park connects directly to the Suria KLCC mall with its halal restaurants and prayer rooms, and on its other side a long air-conditioned walkway runs to Bukit Bintang without stepping out into the sun.
