The shopping centre at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers, opened in 1998 as part of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre project; its name comes from a Malay word meaning sunshine. It spreads over six floors in a crescent overlooking the towers' park and lake. It has more than three hundred stores, from international fashion houses to department stores, bookshops and gift shops, with restaurants, cafés and a food court. The same complex holds the Petrosains science centre for children and the Philharmonic Hall, and a walkway leads to the Aquaria aquarium. Its exits open onto KLCC Park with its paths, fountains and children's water playground, and in the evening musical fountain shows play on the park's lake in front of the lit towers, so time your visit for near sunset. It usually opens daily from ten in the morning to ten at night, and the LRT's KLCC station connects directly to it. It gets very busy at weekends and during the holidays.
