An interactive science centre inside the Suria KLCC mall at the foot of the Petronas Towers, run by the national oil company, so it tells the story of oil and gas from deep underground to the refinery alongside physics, energy and the environment. The whole point is that children touch and try things rather than read. Its best-known exhibits are a walk-in model of an offshore oil platform, a simulated helicopter ride out to it, and sections on electricity, dinosaurs and space. The content suits school-age children from about five to fourteen; very young ones may not get much from it. Non-Malaysian adults pay RM 30. It is closed on Mondays except in school and public holidays, and opens on weekdays from half past nine to half past five with last entry at four, and at weekends until half past six. Malaysian school holidays make it very crowded, so ordinary weekdays are better. Because it is inside the mall it is air-conditioned and surrounded by halal restaurants and prayer rooms, and it pairs easily with Aquaria KLCC and KLCC Park for a family day, especially when it rains.
