An open park on the south-east shore of West Lake, between the old Qingbo and Yongjin gates, covering about 21 hectares and named after one of the old Ten Scenes of West Lake, «Orioles Singing in the Willows». Under the Southern Song it was an imperial garden called Jujing; it was later neglected for centuries and has been laid out again as an open park, where willows line the water and its pavilions and landing stages look out to the small islands in the middle of the lake. Entry is free at any hour; some lake boats leave from its pier, and it is close to the Hubin shopping area and the streets of the city centre.
