Precisely designed for ages 2–6 — that is its ideal audience and they will have a wonderful time. Older children tire quickly, and adults without children do not go. For a family with a small child in Utrecht: an unmissable destination; for others: the Centraal Museum opposite fits better.

The Nijntje Museum is devoted entirely to the rabbit Miffy (Nijntje in Dutch) — the most famous cartoon character created by the Utrecht artist Dick Bruna, beloved in Japan and worldwide for its simple lines and primary colours (influenced by Utrecht's own De Stijl movement). It is a museum designed specifically for children aged two to six — the Netherlands' first museum for the very young: ten themed rooms where the child plays and learns (Miffy's house, the zoo, the hospital, the school) at their scale and with their hands, so learning is through play, not viewing. No screens, but full sensory, physical activity. On Agnietenstraat opposite the Centraal Museum (usually a combined ticket). For families with small children: Utrecht's ideal destination — and Miffy is Utrecht's beloved gift to the world.
