Parque de la Costa is one of Argentina's biggest amusement parks, opened in 1997 on 14 hectares between the Luján and Tigre rivers in Tigre, at the gateway to the Paraná Delta, about thirty kilometres north of central Buenos Aires. It is often seen as the successor to Italpark, the city amusement park that closed in 1990. It has several roller coasters, among them a water coaster, along with family and children's rides and live shows; part of the grounds was later given over to a separate water park. It pairs easily with a day in Tigre: boat trips into the delta, the Puerto de Frutos market and the riverside promenades. Tigre is reached by suburban train from Retiro. Entry is by a full pass bought at the gate or online; the park opens most days in summer and on selected days, mostly weekends and holidays, the rest of the year, so check the calendar first.
