Puerto de Frutos, the «Fruit Port», is Tigre's old port on the Luján river, where boats from the delta islands unloaded fruit, timber and reeds to sell to Buenos Aires. Today it is a large market for crafts, furniture and delta produce. Among the old quays and warehouses run stalls of woven wicker baskets, reed and pine furniture, homeware and decorations, honey and regional products, and small boats loaded with bundles of reeds still tie up at the quays. There is a new viewpoint over the river, restaurants and cafés, and boat trips through the delta channels leave from here. Entry is free, Tuesday to Sunday. It is a ten-minute walk from Tigre train station, easy to pair with the Tigre Art Museum and a delta trip.
