Penhasco Dois Irmãos Municipal Nature Park, named after the architect Sérgio Bernardes, is a park on the slopes below the Dois Irmãos peaks above Leblon in Rio de Janeiro, protecting a remnant of Atlantic Forest and known for its lookouts over the city. Most sources tie the park's opening to 1992 and to Eco-92, the UN environment conference held in Rio, though dates and area vary between them. According to guides it has four lookouts over Leblon, Ipanema and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, dirt trails, a small arena theatre, a football pitch and a playground, and sculptures by Oscar Niemeyer were added during refurbishment. The usual way up is from Rua Aperana; cars can reach a car park at the top, and a steep dirt road leads to the «Sétimo Céu» lookout. It offers a calm view over the South Zone away from the crowds of the famous peaks; check the hours.
