The Recanto Japonês, «Japanese corner», is a Japanese-style garden on the slopes of the Serra de São Domingos above Poços de Caldas, covering about 40,000 square metres. It was built between 1972 and 1975 by the municipality together with the company Fertilizantes Mitsui and opened on 20 September 1975. It has a traditional azumaya pavilion, small waterfalls, ponds, the «Fountain of Three Wishes» and a tea house. It reopened in August 2025 after renovation work. It opens 8:00-17:00 and tickets are about R$20, though published prices range from R$20 to R$40, so check before you go.
