Finland's largest amusement park and its most varied: Särkänniemi on a peninsula in Lake Näsijärvi north of Tampere's centre gathers in one place thirty rides with their coasters, an aquarium, a planetarium, a small farm zoo and an "Aquarium World" — with the needle-like Näsinneula tower and its revolving restaurant above it all. An Angry Birds World for small children and a children's park of low rides make it the country's best fit for families, and the rocky shore and lakeside cafés rest the legs. Entry to the grounds themselves is free; rides go by day wristband. The season runs May to September, and the autumn Festival of Light opens the park in the evening under illuminations. The Näsinneula tower alone is open year-round.
