A giant observation wheel on Marina Bay, officially opened on 15 April 2008, 165 m tall overall and the world's tallest Ferris wheel when it was completed. It has 28 air-conditioned capsules, each holding 28 people, and a full turn takes about half an hour, the views shifting slowly over Marina Bay, the financial district, Gardens by the Bay and the strait. On clear days you can see as far as the islands of Indonesia and Malaysia, and in the evening the ride becomes a tour above a city of lights. The terminal building has a small exhibition and restaurants. Adult tickets are about S$40, per visitor guides, and it runs daily 10:00–22:00. The best ride starts just before sunset, to see the city by daylight and then lit up.
