Two giant glass conservatories at Gardens by the Bay holding the record for the world's largest glass greenhouse; the Flower Dome alone has the volume of 75 Olympic swimming pools and is covered by 3,332 glass panels. The Flower Dome recreates the mild spring of the Mediterranean and semi-arid regions, with ancient olive trees, baobabs and desert plants, and seasonal flower displays that change through the year in dazzling colour. The Cloud Forest is a mountain covered in tropical highland plants, with a huge indoor waterfall misting the air; a lift takes you to the top, and you come down on suspended walkways that spiral around it through the clouds. The combined ticket is S$46 for adults and S$32 for children for non-residents, daily 09:00–21:00, per the gardens' official site. It's cool and fresh inside, a perfect escape from Singapore's heat.
