They sometimes appear at the town's edges scavenging; keep to marked paths by day and never feed them, and incidents are very rare.
The best formula: three minutes up, then forty minutes down the serpentine path through the trees to the Weavers' Bastion.

The mountain that spells the city's name: Tâmpa rises 960 metres directly above the old town, white BRASOV letters on its slope in the Hollywood manner — and the summit is Transylvania's finest view: red roofs and the Black Church straight below your feet, the walls tracing the town's shape as it was built, the plain running to the Bucegi mountains. The cable car from a square at the foot near the Weavers' Bastion climbs in three minutes, or the winding forest path takes an hour up without real difficulty — the area is a nature reserve where bears sometimes appear at the edges, so keep to the path. At the top, the letters' terrace from behind, a small café, and trails branching into the forest. Sunset from the top then the last cable car down, or the walk with a torch: Brașov's favourite evening ritual.
