If your interest is Lorca himself and his life, the summer house is closer to what you want, since he actually lived there. The centre is a contemporary cultural institution whose value is its programme, so check what is on and decide from that.
Many exhibitions and events are free or carry a small charge, though some programmes need a ticket or a booking. Check the official site beforehand, since the arrangement differs from show to show.

A modern cultural institution in central Granada, created to hold the archive of the poet Federico García Lorca and make it available to researchers, alongside a programme of exhibitions, events and public activity. The building is emphatically contemporary and stands in deliberate contrast to the historic centre around it, which has made it a subject of local argument since it opened. Inside are exhibition rooms, a small theatre and a library. What you see depends on the programme at the time of your visit, since there is no permanent exhibition in the usual sense. Check what is running before planning to go in, because the difference between a major show and a gap between shows is considerable. This is not a substitute for Lorca's summer house but a complement of a different kind: there you visit a home, here you visit an institution. If your time is limited and Lorca himself is the interest, the summer house is closer to what you are after.
