Short: half an hour usually covers it, since what is open to visitors is the historic hall and a small courtyard. The building is a university one used for other purposes, so it is not a museum with a full route.
It sits in the historic centre with the Alcaicería and the Corral del Carbón steps away, all Nasrid remains in the city rather than inside the Alhambra. Take them in one morning before climbing to the Albaicín or the Alhambra.

What survives of the Nasrid madrasa founded by Sultan Yusuf I in the fourteenth century, Granada's first university and the centre of teaching in law and the sciences in the city. It stands directly opposite the Royal Chapel in the heart of the historic centre. The facade you see today is eighteenth-century Baroque and has nothing to do with the original building, which is why many passers-by walk straight past. The Nasrid original survives inside: the prayer hall with its mihrab and its dome worked in plaster and tile, and that is the piece worth going in for. The building now belongs to the University of Granada and is used for university and cultural purposes, so a visit is usually limited to the historic hall and a small courtyard. It is short by nature. For an Arab visitor this is among the most significant surviving pieces of Islamic Granada outside the Alhambra, and its symbolic weight exceeds its size: this is where the city taught before 1492.

What you see from the street is eighteenth-century Baroque; the original is hidden behind it.
