João Fernandes is one of the best-known beaches in Búzios, in a small sheltered cove on the northeast of the peninsula, with clear blue-green water that is calm most days and green hills around it. Beside it lies a smaller cove, João Fernandinho. The calm, clear water makes it good for swimming and for snorkelling among the rocks on either side, where small fish can be seen. Restaurants and kiosks on the beach rent parasols and chairs. It is reached by car or taxi from the town centre, or on the tour boats that stop there. It gets crowded on summer holidays, so mornings are quieter.

Yes on most days, as its water is calm and clear in a sheltered cove, though it is crowded on summer holidays.
