Praia Azeda is one of the most sought-after beaches in Búzios: small and sheltered, with calm, clear, colourful water good for snorkelling. It is reached on foot from Praia dos Ossos down a stairway counted among the finest views in Búzios, and a large colonial-style house makes it one of the town's postcard images. Next to it is Praia Azedinha, separated only by a strip of rock and with no buildings to hide the view of the forest; both lie inside an environmental protection area. Because its strip of sand is very narrow it fills up quickly, so go on a weekday if you want it quiet. Entry is free.
