M+ is a major museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District, on the Victoria Harbour waterfront. It opened in 2021 and draws lovers of art and design, standing out for its huge horizontal base and dark tower looking over the water. The museum covers art, design, architecture and moving image, with works from Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. In July 2025 it introduced a single-price ticket that gives access to all galleries, special exhibitions included, in place of separate prices. That makes a visit simpler for anyone wanting to see everything in one day. You enter a broad hall of concrete and light, with wide stairs, a shop and several cafes. Galleries spread over several floors, with large hanging works, experimental spaces such as the Found Space below ground and a comfortable cinema. Outside, the tower overlooks the harbour, and the park and walkway around it suit a sunset stroll. It is 300 m in a straight line from Sky100 and 1.2 km from Kowloon Park. Allow at least two hours, pick a quieter day and buy online if you can. Some contemporary works may not suit all tastes or young children, so look over the exhibitions first, and check which day it closes each week.
