A Curaรงao law student who fought the 1940 invasion as an officer of documented courage, then smuggled Allied pilots in the resistance until arrest โ dying in Dachau in 1945 near liberation. His wealthy parents refused stone memorials and built a city of joy in his name โ he holding Holland's highest postwar military honour. The entrance story deserves its two minutes.
Three family hours on average โ the only failures being rain against few canopies or August-noon crowds: go early or evening. Modelling-indifferent over-twelves may hurry โ so make it the corridor to adjoining Scheveningen's sea.
