Marina da Glória is a yacht harbour on the Aterro do Flamengo in Rio's Glória district, part of the Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes Park, better known as Flamengo Park, facing the waters of Guanabara Bay and Sugarloaf Mountain. The marina has been tied to big sporting events: at the 2007 Pan American Games it was the start and finish of the sailing races; in 2011 it hosted the qualifying draw for the 2014 World Cup, the tournament's first official event in host country Brazil; and in 2016 it staged the sailing competitions of the Olympic Games in August and the Paralympics in September. Today it has restaurants, cafés and waterfront walks, and boat trips around the bay leave from here. It makes a good sunset stroll with views of Sugarloaf and the yachts; check available trips and prices.
