The Municipal Market of São Félix is a historic market in the town of São Félix, across the Paraguaçu river from Cachoeira. Its building fills a whole block of the town's historic centre and still works as a market today. Construction began in 1902 in colonial style, followed by renovations and changes between 1931 and 1935 and again in 1968–69. On 26 April 2006 the Bahia state heritage institute listed it as state heritage, and an open-air market takes place in front of it on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It stands near the end of the Dom Pedro II bridge, so it makes a stop on a walk across from Cachoeira, offering a look at daily life and local produce in the Recôncavo.
