A district on the bank of the Huangpu in Hongkou, covering about four square kilometres north of the mouth of Suzhou Creek. Its development began in 2003, and in 2017 a riverside walk of about 2.5 km opened along its bank, facing the Lujiazui towers of Pudong head-on. It mixes historic buildings near the creek mouth, among them Broadway Mansions and the old Russian consulate, with new towers, the tallest being White Magnolia Plaza, where a 320 m observation deck opened at the top in 2025, and the «World Meeting Hall», which opens to visitors one day a month. The riverside walk is free from 6 am to 10 pm, the observation deck costs CNY 230 from 10 am to 10 pm, and the World Meeting Hall is free on the last Saturday of each month with booking, per visitor guides.
