The Parque dos Poderes, the «Park of the Powers», officially the Governor Pedro Pedrossian Park since 2017, is a large complex in Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, holding most of the state government's buildings in a green natural setting: the governor's office and the state departments, the Legislative Assembly in the Palácio Guaicurus, the Court of Justice and the audit court. What sets it apart is its neighbouring nature reserve, home to wild animals, so drivers are asked to take care, above all at night, not to hit the small wolves, coatis and armadillos that cross the roads, and visitors often see these animals and colourful birds by the roadside. At weekends especially, the complex fills with walkers, runners and cyclists enjoying its broad, tree-lined roads and fresh air. Entry is free, and the best times are early morning or sunset to see the animals, keeping your distance and never feeding them.
