A yacht marina west of central Marbella — the town's own harbour rather than the better-known Puerto Banús. The distinction matters: Puerto Banús lies about six kilometres west and is the internationally known destination of vast yachts, luxury shops and prices to match. This marina is smaller, quieter and closer to daily life: fishing boats, mid-sized yachts and ordinary restaurants along the quay. That makes it the better choice for anyone wanting a walk by the water without the commercial atmosphere of Puerto Banús. From the quay there is a view over the sea and to La Concha, the mountain standing directly behind Marbella — the mountain is what distinguishes the town's setting from the rest of the Costa del Sol. It connects to Marbella's long seafront promenade running east and west, and you can walk from here to the old town in about fifteen minutes. The place is public, free and always open, and walking the quay costs nothing. The restaurants on it are dearer than the inner streets, as you would expect.

The old town with its white lanes and the Plaza de los Naranjos is the best of it without competition, plus the long seafront promenade and the shaded Alameda park. For nature, La Concha is climbed on marked paths and the view from the summit reaches Africa on clear days.
