A museum inside the General Post Office Building on the north bank of Suzhou Creek by the Sichuan Road bridge, a four-storey Classical building put up in 1922–1924 to designs by Stewardson & Spence, when Shanghai was the hub of China's postal network and its gateway for international mail. Three-storey Corinthian columns front its two façades, and a Baroque clock tower crowns the corner entrance. The museum tells the story of China's post, its stamps and its means of carrying mail, and it reopened on 1 December 2024 after an upgrade. Entry is free with no booking needed, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm, last entry 4 pm, per visitor guides. Tiantong Road metro station is nearby.
