No formal certification — but flexibility runs high: the fish, shellfish and sea-grill stalls are purely marine, vegetarian and sushi stand present, and every stall answers plainly for its ingredients. The working rule: seafood is your wide safe lane — ask about cooking liquids when strict.

Time Out Market is Lisbon's kitchen under one roof: half the historic Ribeira market (1892) turned by the magazine (2014) into the world's first critic-curated food hall — forty kitchens each chosen as best of its kind: Michelin names in small plates, fish and shellfish institutions, the city's most famous croissant and custard tart, at long shared tables beneath the iron roof. It is the family's golden answer: each eats their own — grilled fish here, craft burger there, sushi, vegetarian, sweets — no booking, no committed menu, the motion itself a show. Its other half remains a real morning fruit-and-fish market (enter it to watch Lisbon shop) — and it adjoins Cais do Sodré station: launch point of the Belém tram, the Cascais train and the Cristo Rei ferry — so its meal naturally precedes every westward outing.
