The Bardini is Florence's green secret: a hanging garden on the Oltrarno slope, closed for decades until restored and reopened in 2005, and still unknown to most visitors — so it grants what Boboli no longer can: near-private paths and a face-to-face view of the Duomo's dome. Its star is the wisteria tunnel: a hanging purple passage blooming from late April into early May, producing Florence's most famous spring photograph — yet staying quieter than any museum queue. Year-round, its Baroque staircase climbs between roses and dogwood to the café terrace, where all Florence sits an arm's length away. Its ticket is usually shared with Boboli, with entrances from upper Costa San Giorgio or the river side — make it the calm second chapter of a south-bank gardens day.
