An interactive science centre in central Ljubljana built entirely on one principle: every exhibit is touched and operated by the visitor's own hands, and nothing sits behind glass. The exhibits are experiments in physics, optics, sound and mechanics, at sizes that allow one person to work them. The idea is that a visitor arrives at the scientific principle through the experiment rather than reading it on a panel and then seeing an illustration of it. The centre also runs live science shows at set times, presented by demonstrators, and these are often the best part of the visit — experiments too large or too dangerous to leave to visitors. It is relatively small compared with the major science centres of larger European cities, which works in its favour: the visit does not exhaust anyone and children do not lose focus. Practical points: entry is ticketed with family rates. The live shows run at set times — ask on arrival and plan around them. It fills with school groups on weekdays during term.

From about five to teenage, and adults enjoy it too. Younger children will play with the exhibits without grasping the principle, which is fine. Teenagers and adults will find the live shows the most engaging part.
The exhibits themselves are visual and hands-on and need no language, and labels are usually in Slovene and English. The live shows are presented mainly in Slovene, with English possible by prior arrangement for groups — ask when booking if language matters to you.
